User updating gal

This morning I was asked to update the Global Address List and Offline Address Book in an Exchange environment. You could wait for Exchange to do it automatically (the default schedule is once a day) but what when you want to force the update to take place right now? In this dialog box, you can specify either No Details or Full Details. These settings affect the offline address book download. If you are not seeing correct contact information in the GAL for someone that has a valid email address (i.e.someone who just received a CUMC email account, a new student, someone who recently changed their directory information) please use the steps below to synchronize your computer's locally cached version of the GAL.Do send/receive settings affect automatic 24-hour offline address book downloads? The Download offline address book check box in the Send/Receive Settings - "Group_name" dialog box does not affect the 24-hour download process.

In the Information to download section, select Full Details and in the Address Book section, choose \Global Address List. **NOTE** Please read this section carefully, or your update will not work!!Microsoft Tools | Code Samples | Third-party Tools Directify gives the typical end user the ability to update their directory information (telephone number, office location etc) using their web browser browser.Object creation as well as updating group membership is possible as well. IMI GAL Modify is a small utility for Exchange Admin to modify the Mailbox attributes on MS Exchange Server 5.5.Step 3: The new version of the GAL will now be downloaded.A status window will open to indicate that the download is in progress and will close automatically when the download is complete.
